The College of Business and Administration at UCCS invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Human Resources & Management starting in August 2023.

The Assistant or Associate Professor of Human Resources & Management position is an academic year (9-month) tenure-track position in Management. This position entails teaching, research, and service. The position will teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the areas of Human Resources and Management. Potential courses include Human Resource Management (HRM) for Managers, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards and Retention Strategies, and Advanced Topics in HRM. Classes in other areas will be assigned as needed and efforts will be made to find opportunities for the faculty member to teach in his/her special areas of expertise. Classes may be on-campus, online, or hybrid.

The successful faculty member should be devoted to teaching excellence at the graduate and undergraduate level, committed to high-quality scholarly research, and interested in pursuing community involvement. Cross-disciplinary research is respected and encouraged.

The College of Business is AACSB accredited. All faculty are required to contribute to the maintenance of AACSB accreditation. 

Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate the following:

    Ability to publish in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.Achievement in scholarship such as journal articles, presentations at academic conferences, and/or books/book chapters.Evidence of effective teaching and commitment to student learning. Relevant teaching experience at the university level.Willingness to engage with the business community. Relevant industry experience.

The AACSB International accredited College of Business enrolls approximately 2,000 students annually. The College of Business offers comprehensive undergraduate degrees, select master’s degrees, and professional programs that emphasize principle-based ethical decision making.

Work Location: Typically, on-site; position may be partially remote, based on the semester-to-semester need of the department, as determined with the supervisor.

This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

What We Offer:

Salary Range:  

Assistant Professor - Generally starting at $110,000 - $124,500 per academic year

Associate Professor - Generally starting at $125,000 - $138,000 per academic year

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

In addition, the College of Business provides travel and professional development funding.

Tentative Search Timeline:

Applications submitted by 5:00 pm on July 22, 2022 will receive full consideration.

Application review is expected to begin late July 2022.

The potential dates for interviews with the search committee will be September 2022.

The potential dates for interviews with the supervisor and appointing authority will be October 2022.

The potential employee start date is August 14, 2023.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

An earned doctorate (or ABD) in Human Resource Management, Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a closely related field. ABD applicants must have completed all doctoral course requirements and qualifying exams and must persuasively demonstrate that all degree requirements will be completed before the start of the position

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. 

Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and fine motor skills.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
