Description:

Reporting to the Director of Event Management, the Audio Visual Manager is responsible for the scheduling and daily operations of Audio Video services for the Office of Event Management & Conference Services.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Supervises, schedules and trains staff and student Technicians.
• Assesses staff needs for professional growth and recommends development opportunities.
• Utilizes reports from the University’s event scheduling system to assign staff for daily A/V set-ups.
• Provides technical and production support for commencement, convocation and other major University events.
• Oversees and maintains technical support facilities, supplies and equipment, including troubleshooting repairs.
• Other duties, as needed.

Occasional evening and weekend event coverage for major University functions is required.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Five years of audio and visual services experience.
• Three years supervisory experience.
• Ability to use independent judgement to solve complex technical problems under strict time constraints
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with a broad array of administration and academic staff, departments and student groups.
• Thorough knowledge and experience with the setup and operation of industry-standard A/V systems for live and hybrid events, including Zoom, Microsoft Teams and other video conferencing platforms.
• Relevant experience in troubleshooting A/V systems and technologies in a fast paced event environment with multiple event locations.
• Familiar with industry-standard A/V technology, software and trends.
• Demonstrated record of strong customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in the following areas: event planning, event production, student center operations, event scheduling, staff development, training, and conferences.
• Experience with scheduling software.
• Experience within a higher education setting.
• CTS or A/V industry standard certifications.
