    Provide and support the vision and mission of the University and of Student Financial Services by contributing and preparing the multitude of statistical reports pertaining to SFS long-range planning and the development, implementation, and evaluation strategies to meet the goals and objectives of the department and of the financial aid programs. This role will supervise two counselors assigned to the Graduate/Online Division.

    Provide high quality administrative services and support for the office, it's staff and contacts. Perform services to support an active, student-oriented campus environment.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manage and supervise two financial aid counselors.
    • Assist with counseling and awarding online/graduate students.
    • The Assistant Director will assist the Senior Associate Director in monitoring the financial aid awards, and assist in the coordination of the loan programs.
    • Review and challenge through the appeal process the Cohort Default Rate that is published annually by the USDOE.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Institutional policies and regulations by developing, implementing and evaluating policies and procedures for need analysis, packaging, and the overall delivery process.
    • Assist in the processes of: verification, P J's, SAP appeals, scholarship appeals, technology advancements.
    • Assists in conducting and coordinating f/a nights, open houses, & f/a planning sessions.
    • Assist or prepare special project reports as needed by the SFS leadership team.
    • Oversee the process for private loans in ensuring (certification & disbursement) are run regularly by the systems team as well as analyzing the lender list and the process.
    • Oversee and respond to inquiries of the loan exit process & send out exit packets
    • Notify lenders of enrollment status changes either manually and in coordination with the Office of the Registrar NSC process.
    • Research and resolve NSLDS/Clearinghouse discrepancies in conjunction with Registrar's Office
    • Liaison to ECSI and Conserve Collection on Lynn Loan activities which also include update of bad/invalid addresses on Lynn loan accounts, review of credit balances and Paid in Full promissory notes.
    • Coordinate with the Director of Student Accounts the required monthly loan reconciliation process internally and with USDOE.
    • Assist with rejected loans when necessary to insure timely corrections/processing
    • Assist with the Excess Title IV loan credit returns during the school year when necessary
    • Coordinate the process to insure that loan entrance and loan exit counseling sessions are performed when required.
    • Contact lenders and guarantors on routine monthly reporting as well with problem resolutions as needed.
    • Counseling students/parents about financial aid and financing options to include loan programs.
    • Meet with Private loan representatives to learn about the new loan programs available and obtain loan brochures and other loan materials.
    • Work with the Registrar's Office and Alumni Office in updating bad addresses on Lynn Loans and Federal Loans as requested by the lenders.
    • Coordinate all the default management activities monthly to include reaching out to delinquent & defaulted loan students and assist them with connecting with their lender to exercise deferment opportunities, rehabilitation process, or income payment option to get the student on track.

    Functions As Needed

    • Assist with FISAP
    • Attend Seminars
    • Work flex or extra hours during peak periods.
    • Assist in any function in relation to the operation of the Student Financial Services Dept. which includes taking payments, running bills for a student, & reconciliations of accounts
    • Assist in yearly audit

    Minimum Qualifications

      Master's degree or equivalent; four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Microsoft Suite, PowerFaids/Jenzabar Knowledge, Federal regulations pertaining to Title IV AssistanceExperience with reviewing and challenging the Cohort Default Rate that is is published annually by the USDOE.
