Graduate Assistant

Position Summary:

The graduate assistant serves as an assistant coach to a sport head coach or department director (80%) and as a athletic staff person (20%) while completing the requirements for a graduate degree. He/she must support the philosophy and goals of the head coach/director as well as the mission and vision of the university..

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Attend meetings as called by the head coach and the Graduate Assistant Supervisor
  2. Assist with practice planning, film breakdown, recruiting and scouting
  3. Assist with details related to home games and road trips
  4. Maintain professional relationships with players
  5. Communicate openly with the head coach
  6. Support all decisions made by the head coach
  7. Provide accurate feedback as gathered from players
  8. Be a positive representative of the program and the university
  9. Carry out assigned duties related to game event management including supervision of work-study students.
  10. Carry out other duties within the athletic department as requested by the Director of Athletics.

Bachelor's degree required. Playing experience and or knowledge of the sport. Communication and relational skills. Computer and social media skills.
