The strategy should leverage opportunities for CCO to be nimble, innovative and responsive to learner and employer needs.
  • Expand partnerships with employers and other organizations to create transformative student experiences, launch successful programs, and help Champlain College contribute to the economic growth of Vermont and beyond.
  • Support a high-performing team of faculty and staff that is mission-aligned, values-driven, and engaged.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to bring our strategic plan goals of "fostering a welcoming, supportive and just community" and "championing employee excellence" to life.

Requirements:

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • At least five (5) years of relevant leadership experience in postsecondary online learning serving working adults and part-time students.

  • A record of managing program development for new postsecondary online learning programs, using a broad range of functional skills.
  • Success building a program marketing and student recruitment operation that supports the student journey from lead generation to enrollment.
  • Track record of partnering with employers to develop career-relevant programs that lead to advancement.
  • Experience collaborating with faculty, staff, and administrators to achieve data-driven outcomes.
  • Demonstrated financial management and budget planning skills to drive financial health at the program and unit levels.
  • Experience fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace which includes coaching, mentoring, and developing faculty and staff.
  • Understanding of emerging and national issues for adult learners in higher education, including how DEIBJ practices support student success.

Organization

An educational pioneer since 1878, Champlain is a college where students and faculty don't just respond to opportunities -- they create them. We've introduced new fields of study, like Game Design and Computer & Digital Forensics, and offer majors with a specific focus, like e-Business Management, Digital Filmmaking and Public Relations. Champlain's three-dimensional education -- another pioneering concept -- integrates relevant, professionally focused studies with a rigorous Core curriculum and practical Life Skills program.

All this innovation thrives in our can-do culture, where people with diverse talents pool their skills in enterprising ways. Here students help each other launch new businesses, students and faculty collaborate on research and service, and the college creates partnerships with the community. Our city, Burlington, is the ultimate college town with a hip vibe, a thriving music scene and great food, from Doughboys doughnuts to Bove's family-recipe Italian. It's as original, forward-looking and down-to-earth as Champlain College, and a place it's easy to call home.

All Champlain graduates will have the capacity to attain leadership roles in their various fields due to their professional skills as well as their abilities to think critically and creatively and to communicate effectively.
