Position Summary: Position is eligible for remote work. The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is responsible for supporting the IT needs of UC Irvine faculty, students, and staff. Our mission is to provide information technology leadership, services, and innovative solutions to promote the research, education and community service goals of the University. Under the general supervision of the IT Security Development & IAM Supervisor and as a member of the IT Security Identity and Access Management (IAM) team, the IAM Tier 2 Support Analyst will be the primary contact for escalated issues related to the IAM Services. By leveraging the IAM tool set, the Analyst will collaborate with campus to resolve escalated issues or service requests. Additional responsibilities include maintaining service level agreements and policies, identification of operational process or procedure improvements, develop/maintain documentation and process diagrams, leading special integration projects, developing requirements for the team and developing detailed internal team project plans. The Analyst will also provide after hour or on call support as needed or assigned. The incumbent performs moderately to complex job duties. Reports status of work activity on a regular basis or as requested; elevates matters of importance to senior team or leadership. Compensation Range: Commensurate with experience Department Website:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience providing effective technical customer support and conducting analysis of business with enterprise high available systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders and clients to analyze business requirements and providing effective technical customer support services.
  • Ability to organize complex and rapidly changing functional and technical information and integrate within the project framework.
  • Broad knowledge of various areas of IT.
  • Skill to accurately develop business requirements, models, workflow, functional/technical design specifications, and other necessary project artifacts (e.g. project plan, repository).
  • Possess the verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with technical and nontechnical personnel at various levels in the organization; demonstrated experience in presenting topics to groups of various sizes.
  • Ability to conduct needs analysis and elicit requirements for various business processes, including information flow, reporting and applications for defined functional area; ability to document using standard terminology and formatting.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of how system management actions affect other systems, system users and dependent / related functions.
Preferred:
  • Previous experience with Identity and Access Management principals, Services and Software such as SAML, OIDC, SCIM, Shibboleth, Federation, MFA, password less and etc.
  • Basic knowledge of secure software development. Demonstrated ability to create software specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to install software and troubleshoot and repair moderately complex problems with computing devices, peripherals and software.
  • Understanding of and experience troubleshooting client, server and peripherals-related issues and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance.
  • Experience in incident response and digital forensics, including data collection, examination and analysis. Demonstrated experience with database administration.
  • Working knowledge of database management systems and standards.
  • Knowledge relating to database system design.
  • Advanced database querying and modeling skills working with moderately complex databases.
  • Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
  • Experience with ITIL or similar IT best practices frameworks. Experience with PHP, Java and/or Ruby.
