Vice President of Finance and Administration – Ohio University

Ohio University (OHIO) seeks nominations and applications for the Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer (VPFA-CFO). OHIO is seeking candidates who will serve as a critical member of the senior leadership team and whose strengths include analytical rigor, teamwork, integrity, sincerity, and a positive attitude to join an institution that takes great pride in its sense of community. Representing the university effectively at the local, state, and national level and being collegial and creative in addressing challenges are key elements to the VPFA-CFO’s success. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make major contributions to the continued success of an exceptional public university.

Reporting to the President, the VPFA-CFO is the chief fiscal officer charged with the fiduciary integrity of the university and leadership for human, financial, and physical resources. The VPFA-CFO leads the Finance and Administration division, a group of strong professionals who execute a diverse mission set for the ongoing operations of a complex institution. The VPFA-CFO manages a broad portfolio of functions including finance, budget, controller’s office, investments, treasury, human resource services, real estate, community relations, economic development, safety and risk management, facilities, police, and business services. Finance and Administration exists to provide services that support the academic mission of OHIO by pursuing a continuous improvement approach to deliver efficient and high-quality service to customers. The VPFA-CFO also serves in a statewide leadership role, participating in the statewide chief business officers’ group of the Inter-University Council.

Serving as a member of the President’s Council and Executive Staff, the VPFA-CFO, in partnership with the Executive Vice President and Provost, plays a key role in institutional planning and positioning, forging community partnerships, and in advancing OHIO’s presence in the region, state, and nation. With its historic main campus in Athens; five regional campuses; three extension campuses in the Columbus, Cleveland, and Dayton areas; and one of the largest enrollments of online students among public universities in Ohio, the University has a collective enrollment of about 30,000 students.
