Position Summary:The primary location of this position is on the main Cullowhee, NC campus.
The primary purposes of this position in the Office of Undergraduate Admission include: 1. Banner (University-wide student database): Serve as a Level 2 System Administrator for Banner software system. Specific job functions include, but are not limited to, management and supervision of all Banner student data imported from all external sources (i.e. EAB/Royall, CFNC, SendEDU, ACT, SAT, CommonApp); assisting with the sql programming, development, and administration of a wide variety of reporting, communication, and managerial informational output needs from the Banner data system for UG Admissions and Distance Learning, and assist in the development of reporting resources for Orientation, Financial Aid, Scholarships, Graduate School, and Military Services Department. 2. Department Participation on I.T. and Project Technical Committees: Oriented Development Projects and Initiatives: Participate as the UG Admissions liaison for General Administration Student Data Mart, WCU Data Warehouse Power Group, Banner User Group, WCU Data Standards, Business Intelligence, I.T. Liaisons User Group, and I.T. Council. Develop and implement the ongoing functional needs, compliance issues, recommendations, and system requirement solutions from these committees and bring them all into operational fruition based on the operational and communication flow practices of the UG Admission Office going forward. 3. Web Platform Research and Development and Other Specialized Technical Support Projects: Administrate technical changes to all on-line application processes (i.e. EAB/Royall, CFNC, Slate) that directly impact the capture, import and export of ancillary electronic data within Admission Office.
Provide direct oversight of SENDEDU/N.C. Wise/Parchment/CommonApp/SCOIR electronic transcript processing, electronic data storage and maintenance of electronic records (including data encryption and future projects such as document imaging). 4. Slate and myWCU: Programming of automated email communications, producing report and statistics from messaging campaigns. Provide basic level instruction on how to use Slate for new employees.
Provide programming and technical expertise to Advising and Registrar’s Offices regarding the functionality of the myWCU student portal in order to ensure that student data transfers seamlessly from the initial application through the enrollment process.
Master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree with 2 years’ experience.
Preferred Qualifications:SQL experience, Banner experience, Microsoft Office, general knowledge of University systems and practices
