Job Description:The Department of Physics at the University of Florida invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate to conduct theoretical and computational research on topics related to supermassive black hole evolution. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in modeling the dynamics and gravitational-wave signatures of multiple supermassive black hole systems in galaxies, or other topics that overlap with the research of Dr. Laura Blecha’s group. The successful candidate will be encouraged to build collaborations with Dr. Blecha’s group and with other members of the growing computational astrophysics center at UF, as well as with our colleagues around the world. The nominal start date is August 16, 2022, though this is flexible.

The position may be renewed on a year-to-year basis contingent on performance and funding. A competitive salary and funds for research/travel will be provided, and the position includes a benefits package. The successful candidate will have access to significant computational resources via the state-of-the-art HiPerGator research computing cluster: (www.rc.ufl.edu/about/hipergator/).

Advertised Salary:

$47,476 to $60,000; commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Ph.D. in Physics
