Annual salary is $47,476 and includes excellent benefits and flexibile work arrangements.

Responsibilities

DESCRIPTION: The Instructional Technologist provides technical assistance for Canvas learning management software (LMS) and academic technology tools. Assists faculty in the design, development, and implementation of online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced courses and course tools. Assists with the development and implementation of trainings relating to instructional technology and instructional design.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists faculty and students with technical and how-to assistance with Canvas LMS and academic technology.
2. Assists faculty in the design, development, and maintenance of online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced courses.
3. Assists with the development and implementation of faculty training relating to academic technology and instructional design.
4. Designs and supports production of learning resources in variety of formats including print, graphics, audio/video, and animation technologies to support curriculum offerings.
5. Researches and recommends advances on multimedia and course delivery software for use by faculty and others to improve delivery methods and operations.
6. Performs administrative tasks on essential software, such as LMS, Zoom.
7. Develops and maintains proficiencies in emerging technologies, pedagogies, and best practices related to eLearning and instructional technology.
8. Represents the College at local, state, and national conferences and professional organizations.
9. Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.
2. One year of experience in instructional design, educational technology, distance learning, information science or related field.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience with Canvas LMS.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
1. Knowledge of course management systems, especially Canvas®.
2 Knowledge of multimedia applications.
3. Experience with training or staff development.
4. Excellent Microsoft Office suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
5. Experience with basic web development and technology-based learning software tools, such as CSS, Adobe Creative Suite, H5P, Nearpod, and Camtasia.
6. Strong analytical skills, process orientation, and business savvy.
7. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, concepts, and proposals.
8. Ability to work with individuals with a wide range of technological expertise.
9. Knowledge of a variety of instructional technology tools and platforms including curriculum management software.
10. Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.
11. Ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions on complex technical issues.
12. Ability to maintain confidentiality and security when working with user data.
13. Committed to working in a multicultural environment.

Locations

Seminole State College is located in Seminole County, Florida within the greater Orlando metropolitan area. The main campus located 15 miles north of Orlando, features 200 acres of beautiful, rolling countryside, and is bordered by Sanford to the north and Lake Mary to the west. The campus is home to various academic programs, the Wayne M. Densch Partnership Center, Center for Public Safety, CFADA Professional Automotive Training Center, Center for Fine and Performing Arts, Raider Athletics, and Grindle Honors Institute.
