The Athletic Operations Manager reports to the Assistant AD for Athletic Operations and will be responsible for all aspects of game day operations including set up/breakdown, staffing, administrative oversight, and event management of all assigned events. This position will also have shared oversight of the department’s budget and will adhere to NCAA and conference guidelines. The Athletics Operations Manager will communicate effectively with head coaches to ensure that athletic team needs are being satisfied.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise all aspects of game day operations at assigned events, serve as game day administrator including set up, break down, and crowd control
  • Shared oversight of budgeting and purchasing of athletic equipment
  • Collaborate with campus partners including facilities staff, cleaning services, campus safety and CESP
  • Communicate regularly with administrators, athletic training staff, head coaches and student athletes
  • Assist with management of the athletic operations budget (shared oversight with Assistant AD for Operations)
  • Perform maintenance and preparation of fields, facilities, equipment, and athletics venues
  • Oversee field/venue prep for all conference and NCAA championships
  • Work with vendors to obtain quotes for various needs
  • Serve as primary contact for coaches for Athletics equipment, laundry, locker rooms
  • Comprehensive oversight of all athletic laundry services, including budget ($2,000) and staffing
  • Establish, communicate and execute all processes related to locker room facilities
  • Coordinate locker room usage (away teams, home teams, and officials for all games/events: conference and NCAA tournaments)
  • Oversee travel operations for assigned sports
  • Oversee bat compression testing program for baseball/softball programs
  • Supervise all operations of golf simulator room
  • Oversee maintenance and upkeep of pool timing system
  • Provide support, as needed, to Assistant Athletic Director and other Athletics Operations Manager
Requirements and Qualifications

This person needs strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Must also be able to develop and implement improvements to move the department forward. This person must be prepared to troubleshoot any potential problems and must also work with coaches and staff to keep up with any NCAA and Conference changes. A flexible work schedule is a requirement depending on scheduled events. This person must be able work with and schedule student workers for each home event and any additional help as needed. This position must interact in a professional manner with a diverse group of staff, faculty, students and the community in a service-oriented environment.

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
  • Previous experience in collegiate athletics preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational, delegation and planning ability
  • Must be able to think independently, work as a member of a team and be proactive
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division III and Centennial rules and regulations
  • Experience in field preparation and maintenance is preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to cover athletic events
  • Must be able to do minor repairs and upgrades
