Description:

Hofstra University, an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Colonial Athletic Association, is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach. The assistant women’s lacrosse coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in order to ensure the program’s success as directly related to the skill development and performance of the student-athletes, as well as the recruitment, retention, and conduct of the student-athletes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assists with the player development as it relates to proper technique, advanced skill instruction and competition strategy along with team building.
• Assists with evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes.
• Evaluates the performance, conduct, and abilities of individuals and groups as assigned by the head coach.
• Assists, develops, and participates in program planning, contest preparation, scouting, film breakdown, practice sessions, game day activities.
• Coordinates game and practice schedules.
• Monitors and assists in areas as assigned including all compliance forms (ex. CARA LOGS), travel itineraries, strength and conditioning, camps and clinics, recruitment, admissions, academic pre-reads, NLIs, academic enhancement, equipment, financial planning and budgeting, purchasing, and fundraising.
• Participates in public relations activities, community outreach programs, marketing and development initiatives as well as alumni engagement.
• Responsible for knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. If found responsible for a violation of NCAA regulations, will be subject to disciplinary or corrective action, including termination if appropriate. Also, may be responsible for any act or omission that may give rise to a finding that the University has violated an NCAA regulation.
• Requires working weekends and holidays and attending athletic events as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the head coach and/or athletic director.

Candidates must be willing and able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Colonial Athletic Association, and the NCAA.


  Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience preferred.
