Description
The School of Nursing at the MGH Institute of Health Professions invites applications and nominations for a half-time faculty position in the area of Women’s Health/Gender-related Nurse Practitioner.  We are interested in hiring dynamic faculty who have a strong interest in educational excellence and innovation to prepare nurses for the local, regional, and national workforce with interprofessional and global competencies. Faculty are expected to be actively engaged in the scholarship of discovery, teaching and learning or practice/application.

MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston is an innovative and interprofessional graduate school with post-baccalaureate, direct entry-level master’s and doctorate, and post-professional programs in nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, speech-language pathology, health professions education, genetic counseling, and a PhD in rehabilitation sciences. The only degree-granting affiliate of MassGeneralBrigham (MGB), the MGH Institute offers its more than 1,500 students unparalleled opportunities to learn and work alongside expert practitioners in a variety of hospital, clinical, community, and educational settings. School of Nursing

Educating more than 500 students with 55 full-time faculty, the School of Nursing offers an accelerated BSN program, an entry-level and post-professional Master of Science in Nursing, a Certificate of Advanced Study, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice, one of the first DNP programs in the country.

 

The SON faculty includes outstanding educators and researchers, many of whom are recognized nationally and internationally for their clinical and scholarly excellence.

 

The Master of Science in Nursing placed in the top 30% of nurse practitioner programs according to the most recent rankings by U.S. News amp; World Report. The Doctor of Nursing Practice is ranked second in Greater Boston by U.S. News.

 



Qualifications
Qualifications

Successful candidates will be eligible for licensure in Massachusetts, hold at least one graduate degree in nursing in the area of specialization (Women’s health/Gender-related care) required for the faculty appointment; a doctorate in nursing or a related discipline is preferred. Current certification as a Women’s Health NP is required for the advanced practice track. Exceptional applicants with a master’s degree in nursing and 3-5 years of Women’s Health nursing will be considered for this faculty position. Additionally, candidates must possess a commitment to scholarship appropriate with rank and must demonstrate excellent technological, interpersonal and collaborative skills.

In addition, we are seeking candidates whose teaching, scholarship, service, or life experience have prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education; are committed to mentoring members of underrepresented groups; and are individuals who may have had nontraditional career paths, who may have taken time off, or who have had careers outside of academia.
