The School of Business and Economics at Concordia University Irvine, seeks applicants for a full-time (10 month) faculty position starting August 1, 2022. The School strives to develop wise, honorable, and cultivated citizens by preparing graduates for a successful transition into employment and/or graduate school. Responsibilities will include teaching introductory and upper-division courses, curriculum development and assessment, research, service to the department and university, and other academic or administrative responsibilities as assigned. Some MBA course assignments may become available.

Successful candidates must 1) understand, value, and affirm a Christian liberal arts approach to higher education, 2) be willing to invest themselves in the lives of students, and 3) teach in more than one area of business specialization in a variety of modalities (classroom, online and hybrid). Ideal candidates must be academically qualified including a terminal degree (ABD will be considered) in Economics as well as possess recent, relevant experience in the business world.

This position requires academic and professional experience in economics and would include teaching responsibilities, depending on the candidate selected, in several of the following areas: economics, business statistics, business data analytics, business, and signature assignment courses. In addition to classroom instruction this position requires: 1) development or improvement efforts in programs, courses or certificate programs and their pedagogy, 2) supervision of student co-curricular programs and events (e.g. Concordia Business Plan Competition, Teen Entrepreneur Academy, etc.), and 3) active participation in the CUI APLO and IACBE accreditation and continuous improvement processes.
