Reporting to the Director, Strategy & Sport Wellness, the Supervisor, Wellness Programs strategically creates and coordinates the delivery of a range of programs, services, supports, and events relating to physical activity and wellness. Examples include hosting guest speakers and services, physical activity events and opportunities, awareness and educational campaigns and workshops. With an understanding of student experiences and a strong understanding of holistic wellness needs of post-secondary student populations, the incumbent will lead a team of one full time and multiple casual staff, and liaise with campus and external experts to deliver engaging and supportive programs for diverse populations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conceptualizing, organizing and executing program activities
  • Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Planning and overseeing the implementation of an evaluation framework for programs and initiatives
  • Developing strategies that maximize outreach to students
  • Promoting athletic/fitness programs at student events
  • Directing the activities of a single ongoing staff-appointed employee
  • Directing the activities of casual staff

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical/Health Education, Recreation/Leisure, Kinesiology, or an acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years experience leading student recreation, health, or wellness programs, preferably in a post-secondary environment
  • Experience creating and leading the delivery of co-curricular programs to university/college student populations
  • Experience training and supervising casual staff
  • Experience planning events, and working with internal and external partners
  • Experience designing educational and supportive programs to meet needs of diverse populations
  • Strong knowledge of issues and research related to student wellness/physical activity
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, organization and time management skills
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills with a superior customer service apprach
  • Ability to work independently, effectively multitask, and determine priorities
  • Ability to make appropriate referrals to student services and recognize students in crisis
