Job Description:


Reporting to the Associate Director of Integrated Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Communications Specialist will support the office of Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC)in external and internal marketing and communications projects. The specialist's tasks will include liaising with clients, managing projects, creating project plans, writing and editing, basic formatting and facilitating special projects.


  • Working closely with the Associate Director, serve as project manager for various functions IMC including internal communications support, marketing and advertising campaigns, editorial calendars and event support.
  • Work with the Associate Director to create Integrated Marketing and Communications plans and project plans; work closely with IMC staff members to coordinate responsibilities.
  • Support Associate Director in standard office procedure documentation of IMC responsibilities.
  • Manage tracking and reporting of projects using IMC's project request ticketing system, working with clients to gather relevant information, ensuring correct assignment, priority, timelines and approvals; coordinate wrap-up and closing of tickets.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director to manage division budgets and the annual strategic plan process.
  • Support the Executive Director with special projects as needed.

Requirements:


  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in marketing or communications (or equivalent work experience and/or closely related field)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in marketing, communications or related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; highly skilled in spelling, punctuation, grammar and proofreading
  • Experience with project management in a professional capacity; excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Experience in writing standard office procedures and an understanding of best practices
  • Comfortable in fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population

Preferred Qualifications:


Familiarity with Adobe InDesign a plus
Familiarity with ticket request system (os Ticket, Jira, or similar) a plus
Experience using a web content management system; Terminal Four CMS is a plus



Additional Information:


Hourly Rate: $25-30/hr./18/hrs. week (non-benefited)
