Position Summary:

Provides overall leadership for workforce development and community engagement opportunities to include the development, management, and implementation of corporate training/business solutions and workforce development programming to include the expansion and implementation of customized services that meet strategic opportunities. Oversees the programmatic operations for corporate training and workforce development, ensuring the successful development and implementation of training programs and initiatives for students and businesses that are sustainable and have the potential to generate revenue. Works directly with the Executive Director, Workforce Development and Community Education, to manage services and uphold the College mission.

Reporting and Supervisory Relationships:

Direct reporting relationship to the Executive Director, Workforce Development and Community Education. Direct supervisory relationship to workforce development and community education staff, hourly employees, contracted and temporary instructors.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Assesses community needs and recommends programs to meet identified areas of demand; oversees contract and corporate training and maintains linkages with the academic divisions.2. Oversees the planning and coordinating of non-credit courses, customized training, vocational certificates, conferences, and workshops in the following business sectors: Healthcare, Business, Education, and Government – or — TDL (Transportation, Distribution and Logistics); Supply Chain Management; Manufacturing and Industrial Technology that includes, but is not limited to career training; adult personal enrichment; humanities; popular culture; issues of local, national and international concern; and programming for senior adults, youth and other groups.3. In conjunction with the Executive Director, identifies business opportunities by identifying prospects, calling on prospects, developing relationships and recommending and implementing revenue-generating solutions, and/or establishing partnerships to develop and expand community engagement.4. Coordinates the creation of customized and standardized workforce development training programs for private and public entities, agencies, and community college consortiums.5. Establishes partnerships with committee organizations and college academic divisions related to assigned program areas; plans, coordinates and approves promotional and online activities for applicable non-credit courses and programs; trains, supervises and evaluates instructors for the unit.6. Initiates and follows up on contacts to determine training needs.7. Collaborates with other departments within the College to deliver training that meets the needs of community and corporate clients. Works closely with workforce partners and case managers to ensure students are registered in non-credit classes appropriate for their grant funding and program of interest.8. Assists in researching, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring contract trainers andconsultants for courses and training programs.9. Provides overall administration to develop and implement appropriate training programs at the companies’ location or at a PSC, as well as managing research and development of new programs and topics for corporate training, personal interest, community education, and responds to the demands of the local workforce.10. In partnership with the Executive Director, identifies, develops, writes, and submits funding for grant proposals and partnership opportunities that support workforce development.11. Monitors classes and corporate training agreements and account budget as a cost recovery center.12. Researches and implements corporate training courses, classes and workshops designed to meet the needs of the PSC general and business community.13. Works with the Public Relations and Marketing Department to develop marketing materials to promote available programs.14. Maintains accurate records of training including budgeting, personnel, and materials
15. Attends meetings, conferences, workshops, and seminars pertinent to position’s responsibilities. Represents PSC in relevant local, state and professional organizations.16. Provides support and/or direction to assigned program supervisors, coordinators, instructors, panelists, seminar and workshop leaders and others in carrying out their respective duties for business solutions; evaluates all program personnel.17. Provides support with the staff’s responsibilities of schedules for enrollment status, recommends cancellation of classes when appropriate, and notifies students and instructors of canceled non-credit classes.18. Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.19. Serves on appropriate College committees and represents the College at community events as requested by the Executive Director.20. Fosters internal and external relationships and documents communication.21. Position requires entrepreneurial skills, flexibility, evening hours and some weekend work as well as local travel to class and partner sites throughout the district.22. Performs other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the department consistent with the role of this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

1.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Adult and Continuing Education, Marketing, or a related field.2.Three years of experience in selling business solutions to businesses and organizations.3.Three to five years’ experience developing diverse learning experiences and cultural enrichment programs in an educational setting.4.Demonstrated excellent written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills5.Demonstrated ability to perform routine duties and exercise good judgment in absence of direct supervision.6.Extensive experience in working with the public, preferably in a customer service environment.7.Computer skills including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing with use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree in Business, Adult and Continuing Education, Marketing, or a related field.2. Experience with education program development and administration.3. Experience establishing programs in workforce development4. Familiarity with workforce preparation strategies, job search placement services, careerand vocational education, adult learning principles, and multiple population groups.

Anticipated Work Hours and Days:

8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday (or as otherwise dictated by the college)
