Position description
The Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management (ESPM) in the Rausser College of Natural Resources (RCNR) at the University of California, Berkeley (UCB) invites applications for a one-year pool of qualified temporary lecturers to teach courses with a focus area of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management. Screening of applicants is on-going and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the Department.

General Duties:
We are seeking lecturers who can teach/co-teach lecture, seminar, and/or laboratory courses in environmental science, policy, and management, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and maintaining a course website.

Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
  • An Advanced degree, or enrolled in an advanced degree program at the time of application
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
  • An Advanced degree is required by the start date of the position.
Preferred qualifications
  • The completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent international degree
  • Documented experience in teaching one of the biological sciences at the college level is strongly preferred.
