Job Description

Do you want a job, or do you want to be on a mission to transform lives, including your own? UMSL’s Advancement Services department is growing, seeking two gift processors. This is an opportunity to learn the about philanthropy from the inside and about advancement as a profession. Our department has two main objectives – to be good stewards of our benefactors and their donations, and to provide the advancement team with the tools they need to serve our community well. In this role, a proactive, detail-orientated team player will be able to grow their career on a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities
Receive and process donations to the University
Process Matching Gifts received from donors
Work with the Senior Gift Processor to respond to questions from Advancement staff, other UMSL staff/faculty, UM System staff, and/or donors
Input, revise, maintain, store, and retrieve correspondence or data in electronic and/or paper files
Update biographic and demographic data from various sources
Assist with processing donor gift receipts and other donor or alumni correspondence as needed
Provide outstanding customer service by answering phones or emails and greeting visitors as needed
Deliver on the unit’s goals through:
- Paying attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Performing effectively under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding sensitive matters
Other projects as assigned

Shift

Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm (flexibility in start/end times)

Salary

Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Hiring Range: $16 - $17 Hourly
Grade: GGS-6
University Title: Business Support Specialist I

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business related field
• Experience with financial data entry
• Experience with a charitable organization
• Experience in maintaining accurate data in online tools
• Microsoft Office applications proficiency, including production mail merge support
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
