Job Summary: The Director, Moundville Archaeological Park is responsible for the planning and oversight of the park to include staffing, financial management, facility and grounds operations, exhibits, events, educational programming and public relations.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in museum studies, anthropology, natural science, education or other relevant field and at five years of experience working in a museum or similar educational setting or other relevant experience; or Master's degree or higher in museum studies, anthropology, natural science, education or other relevant field and three year experience working in a museum or similar educational setting or other relevant experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Experience may include marketing, public relations, public speaking, collection policies and practices, educational programs, exhibit design and fundraising. Supervisory experience is required.
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies.
Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of personal computers and standard software programs (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet applications, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications: Experience building relationships with Indigenous communities.
