Schedule: In-Person: 8 am – 1 pm Monday – Friday, up to 29 hours a week.

Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY 
The Account Clerk is a student-facing position, which receives payment for tuition from students, via mail or through Vouchers. This position assists students with questions concerning their accounts, performs account research, and assists with balance inquiries. This role also assists internal customers with deposits and disburses checks to students and employees. This position has extensive cash-handling responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Customer Service
Operates cashier window by receivingcash, check or credit card payments for tuition payments or departmentaldeposits. Balances the cash drawer at the close of the shift by counting andreconciling money and other receipts.

Maintains student records, adding account notations and scanning documents. Receives and processes tuition payments. Completes and maintains required documentation including balance sheets, payment arrangements, and stop payments. Issues Pre-Paid Visa cards for department use. Responds to student questions about account balances, collection processes, and transaction activity on their student account in-person and by CHAT and phones using Call Center.

Orientation Program Design & Facilitation
Handles returned correspondences and distributes them appropriately. Opens and routes mail to appropriate personnel and logs return mail to student accounts. Distributes refund checks, paychecks, employee reimbursement checks, and other documents. Scans balancing information, student vouchers, and student backup documentation. Assists Accountants with a variety of tasks and projects, as directed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 
While performing duties of this job, the employee frequently sits at a desk, and regularly stands and walks. Frequently talks and hears on the telephone and in-person with office visitors. Frequently exhibits close vision requirements when working on the computer equipment. Frequently uses hands to handle and feel, exhibits digital dexterity when performing production typing, word processing, and other computer applications. The employee occasionally lifts up to 10 pounds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year of cashier or customer service experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills preferred

State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
