Position Emphasis: 

We are recruiting a motivated Research Assistant Professor to join Dr. Zhirui Wang’s laboratory to develop broad-spectrum diphtheria toxin-based recombinant immunotoxins for cancer treatment and transplantation tolerance induction. Wang lab’s main interest and expertise is using a unique diphtheria toxin resistant yeast Pichia pastoris expression system as a platform to develop diphtheria toxin-based recombinant immunotoxins for specific depletion of targeted cell populations. Wang lab has established systems and long-term success experience with the entire recombinant immunotoxin development including in vitro efficacy analysis and in vivo efficacy characterization using such as rodent models and large animal models. This candidate will obtain external research funding support and publish in peer-reviewed journals and. This candidate will also assist PI to supervise research fellows, post-docs and other students.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $65,000 to $70,000.00

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
 Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

    MD, or DVM, or Ph.D. in life science. Strong publication record in life science.10+ years of research experience in life science.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Independent research experience. 
  • Independent funding application capability.
  • Very experienced with different animal models.
  • Very experienced with translational research.
