The Department of Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences in the College of Arts & Sciences is seeking applications from qualified candidates for adjunct faculty positions in aquatic sciences and water/wastewater treatment technology.

Part-time adjunct instructor(s) are needed for teaching lecture courses in Water Resources Science and Technology for Fall 2022. Courses needing instructors include Introduction to Wastewater, Aquatic System Science, and Advanced Wastewater Treatment and Recycling. Teaching assignments may include day or evening classes, flexible to suit course schedule. Online teaching option may be available.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master of Science (M.S.) in environmental science, aquatic ecological science, environmental engineering and management, or related field from a regionally accredited institution.

  • Experience and interest in teaching graduate/undergraduates in a culturally diverse student population.

  • Ability to work with faculty and staff, ability to respond promptly to queries from students, faculty, and staff.

  • 18 graduate hours in related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working towards or has earned Ph.D. in environmental science, aquatic ecological science, environmental engineering and management, or related field from a regionally accredited institution.

  • Experience in field investigation projects, with a focus on water resources preservation and remediation.

  • Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching.

  • Experience with non-traditional commuter university setting.

  • Experience with a culturally diverse student body.
