Job Summary

Manage all faculty recruitment processes, including tenure and non-tenure track, visiting scholars, and part-time faculty appointments, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies. Manage faculty contract administration and promotion and tenure processes.

This position will interact on a regular basis with faculty and staff.
This position typically will advise and counsel: Faculty and staff.
This position will supervise: Assigned staff or student assistants.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Serve as the primary contact with unit managers, Faculty Affairs, and Human Resources on all faculty hiring, including verification of compliance with Institute policies in GT-TRACS, vacancy announcements, approving PSFs and Leaves of Absence, and relocation requests.

Job Duty 2 -

Manage chair search process; interact with search committees and candidates on employment terms and benefits.

Job Duty 3 -

Manage Periodic Peer Review; maintain the database to track faculty timeline; process employment letters for full and part-time faculty and lecturers.

Job Duty 4 -

Manage reappointment, promotion, and tenure process and associated actions.

Job Duty 5 -

Ensure appropriate visa classifications for tenure track faculty, visiting scholars, and Ph.D. students.

Job Duty 6 -

Manage and maintain complex database and filing systems and manage archives.

Job Duty 7 -

Manage Leaves of Absence requests, Emeritus, and Retired but Working appointments.

Job Duty 8 -

Manage Faculty awards and various travel awards programs.

Job Duty 9 -

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications

Overnight travel required for project delivery; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours (due to client shift schedules and project requirements).

Required Experience

Five to seven years of job-related experience.

SKILLS

This job requires advanced knowledge of and ability to apply/interpret Board of Regents and Institute policies and procedures that govern faculty administration; demonstrated experience in faculty employment, including promotion and tenure; skilled in verbal and written communications, interpersonal interactions, organization, customer service, and planning; basic knowledge of computer-related office applications and database systems.
