Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Be board certified/eligible in Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
The Division of Infectious Diseases at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia invites applications for an outstanding laboratory investigator to join the vibrant research environment in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute (http://www.research.chop.edu).
Teaching responsibilities may include education of medical students from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, as well as residents and fellows from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Teaching can take place in a variety of settings such as lecturing, small group, clinical and/or didactic sessions.
Clinical responsibilities may include service on the inpatient infectious diseases consultative services and/or the outpatient infectious diseases clinic, including supervision of residents and fellows.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include fundamental or translational research in the field of infectious diseases and publishing in peer reviewed journals.
The Division has a strong track record of basic and clinical research across the spectrum of pediatric infections and host-microbe interactions. Candidates will also benefit from the larger research community across the University of Pennsylvania campus, which encompasses expertise in virology, immunology, bacteriology, parasitology, and the microbiome.
The Division of Infectious Diseases is a vibrant and interactive environment with over 20 faculty members, approximately 9 trainees and 50 staff. Division faculty attend on three robust inpatient clinical consultative services, including a dedicated immunocompromised infectious diseases service. In addition, specialty outpatient clinical services in the Division include dedicated clinics in the areas of oncology, cystic fibrosis, and neuro-ID.
