SALARY:
$12.80 per hour QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field
• Coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level or playing experience at the professional or collegiate level
Preferred:

• Up to 19 hours per week
• Flexible work schedule to support the program
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrated experience in program development and event planning
• Strong facilitation skills
• Detail oriented

• Exercises passion to help student-athletes reach their fullest potential

• Ability to communicate in a professional manner, displaying tact and diplomacy when needed
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Work Environment:
• Outdoors for athletic events, such as practices and games, subject to different weather and possible high noise and lighting level
• Indoor office environment with normal noise and lighting levels
Physical Demands:
• Bending, sitting, kneeling, lifting, running and all physical demands to instruct student athletes on the field
• Moving of equipment needed to be used on the fieldTravel:
• 50% during the season throughout the state and possible national travel.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
Logistical support and assistance with coaching outfielders, catchers and pitching; must be able to handle a fungo and throw BP and assist with recruiting student-athletes.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Serves students. Recruit prospective student-athletes to the AWC baseball team using various forms of electronic, telephonic and face-to-face communication. Assist student-athletes with the admissions process. Position requires an understanding of campus facilities and department functions with the ability to communicate these functions to prospective student-athletes and their families both electronically and face-to-face.
Demonstrate and instruct through multiple learning styles the proper catching fundamentals to student-athletes. Aid in the implementation of strength program including pre-practice warm up and post practice cool down. Provide feedback and instruction with appropriate communication for student-athletes. Assist during offensive and defensive practices providing proper feedback in conjunction with the methods being taught during the practice sessions. Manage batting practice throwing and fungo hitting.
Assist all coaches on staff in their daily functions as they pertain to team improvement. Including but not limited to video editing, pre-practice set up, post practice breakdown and game day equipment responsibilities. Assist with social media postings, including communication with SID to promote AWC baseball effectively and appropriately within the guidelines set by the head coach and athletic department.
Maintain inventory of all equipment and uniforms through a formal process.
Support and participate in strategic planning initiatives and performs other duties as assigned.
