Associate Director, Office of Procurement Services
Market Range 14

The position of Associate Director of Procurement Services is responsible for the management of the procurement and contract staff and acts on behalf of the director in her/his absence.  The Associate Director interprets and enforces the University’s procurement policy and applicable state law.  This position reviews non-competitive justifications, provides procurement and contract policy and procedures training for both procurement department personnel and all departments, colleges, and institutes, advises departments on procurement-related issues, reviews contract language, bid documentation, and negotiates with suppliers.  This position assists with critical compliance functions including fiscal review reporting for the Tennessee General Assembly and managing exclusivity obligations for the entire UT System. 



Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
4 years of experience in high-volume, complex procurement
4 years of experience in a professional, high-pressure, fast-paced environment
3 years of experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems or related systems
Intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills
Contract drafting; technical writing skills
Public speaking skills
Ability to interact with a diverse population in a professional manner
Ability to make ethical decisions
Ability to interpret laws, contracts, and policies
Ability to make critical decisions quickly and accurately

Preferred Qualifications
3 years of experience with management or leadership
Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, English (technical writing), Law, Sciences or Supply Chain
Project management
Lean Six Sigma
Data analysis skills

Pay Scale Type
MR14 – Associate Director with salary based on qualifications, experience, and budgetary constraints.
