Job Id: 846 # of Openings: 1 Public Safety Dispatcher Job OverviewThe Public Safety Dispatcher answers Public Safety emergency and non-emergency calls, and College switchboard calls. The Public Safety Dispatcher reports to the Operations Manager. ShiftMonday - Friday 12am-8am Duties
  • Answer Public Safety phone calls, monitoring emergency lines and other office lines.
  • Dispatch Public Safety Officers to a variety of calls for service, acting as a liaison between officers and the caller.
  • Enter calls into ARMS (Automated Records Management System) and monitor officer activity.
  • Answer College switchboard calls, assisting with directory information and transferring calls.
  • Create and replace ID cards for students, employees and visitors.
  • Monitor doors on proximity access control system.

  • One year related experience or training.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate and convey information in a clear concise manner.
  • Computer literate in basic tools including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn and apply new information and instruction quickly and accurately.
Physical RequirementsThe employee is regularly required to sit, stand and move about the room to work at various machines for programming cards. The employee must be able to speak clearly on the telephone and radio as well as hear clearly to receive calls. The employee must be able to see various computer screen styles as well as look up reference material in binders and flipcharts.
