Dance Instructor - Part Time Adjunct

Job Description Summary:
The dance instructor is primarily responsible for teaching beginning to intermediate dance in areas such as ballet, jazz, and/or hip-hop. Develop student's technical dance skills and knowledge. Teach dance combinations and routines.

  • Teach effectively and responsibly using a variety of instructional methods
  • Ensure safety protocols are met and proper technique is followed to prevent injury.
  • Be accessible to students and respond timely to their inquiries
  • Grade assignments and course(s) in accordance with the College's guidelines/timelines
  • Utilize the College's learning management system (Moodle) to post assignments, attendance, and grades
  • Provide the department with student performance data that is required for regular outcomes assessment
  • Work comfortably and respectfully with diverse students and College populations

Required Qualifications:
· Experience teaching dance.· Proficiency with computer technologies, including Microsoft Office and email applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
· Associates degree or higher in Physical Education, Dance or related area· Community college teaching experience

Other Information:
All applicants must demonstrate the ability to promote active and collaborative learning through a variety of teaching methods, as well as relate to students. Excellent organization and communication skills as well as the demonstrated use of instructional technology are required.
