Job Summary:

The Instructor I/Program Coordinator for the Pharmacy Technician program reports directly to the Chair of Allied Health. The program coordinator will provide administrative oversight of the Pharmacy Technician Program in addition to teaching pharmacy technician courses during the fall, spring, and summer semesters as required by the department. Duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following: coordinating activities and directing training of students; preparing unit plans and curriculum documents; providing instruction for students in the Pharmacy Technician Certificate Program, including dual enrolled students, and supporting the mission of LSCPA. Teaching assignment may include day and evening classes. Additional duties include advising, recruiting, tutoring, student counseling, and working with advisory committees.
Maintain office hours. Teach extended day classes, labs, and clinical courses as required. Manage the program budget. Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences to upgrade teaching skills. Assist in the development of curriculum, unit plan and assessment as needed. Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Licensed by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pharmacy practice.3. Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Pharmacy Technician or related healthcare area.

Preferred Qualifications:

CPhT-Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician.is preferred. Experience with Blackboard Learning Management System is desirable.

Salary:

$40,000 plus $2,000 Program Coordinator Stipend. Plus excellent benefits. On Tenure Track.
