Duties:

Under the direct supervision of the Dean, Liberal Arts, the Managing Director supervises all Fine and Performing Arts Center operations. This includes supervising staff in the daily operation of the box office, shops and performance spaces. The Managing Director prepares and maintains budgets and reports, issues and monitors all FPAC rental contracts for the facility, develops the annual art gallery exhibition schedule with input from others, and develops the annual professional presenting season. The Managing Director is responsible for all activities related to the following: selecting artists, negotiating and executing contracts, developing marketing plans, preparing and managing grants and fundraising activities, and performing other functions as appropriate. The Managing Director works with the Dean, Liberal Arts to establish and evaluate all FPAC policies and procedures and serves as ambassador for the FPAC within the community. The Managing Director is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in theatre management, arts administration or related area, required. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Two to three (2-3) years of experience in arts management and/or administration with demonstrated ability for increased responsibility required.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising the daily operations of a theatre.
  • Experience developing and executing successful marketing plans.
  • Experience working with contracts and grants.
  • Experience maintaining high customer service standards.

Qualifications:

  • Accomplished background in Theater Arts and/or Presenting as evidenced by course work and/or related experience
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting and marketing performing arts/theatre programs
  • Excellent supervisory, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with grants
  • Understanding of fundraising and contract negotiation
  • Solid understanding of box office accounting procedures and front-of-house operations
  • Significant understanding of production and facilities scheduling
  • Must be able to work weekends and evenings as events and programming require

Full Time

Hours:

Monday-Friday
8:00 am to 5:15 pm
Some evening and weekend work is required.

Minimum Starting Rate:

$67,340
