JOB SUMMARY

UConn’s Office of Global Affairs is searching for a Multimedia Content Producer to join its communications team. This position communicates, supports, and enhances the overall marketing goals of the University, the Office of Global Affairs, and its respective units. The incumbent will manage the UConn Global identity consistent with University Communications’ branding standards across a variety of digital and print media formats.

This position works under the general supervision of the Communications Coordinator, and will work closely with the Digital Media Producer, graduate assistants, and student workers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the development and implementation of a social media strategy after conducting competitive research, platform determination, messaging, and audience identification.
  • Plans, designs, creates, edits, publishes, and shares original content (including articles, graphics, and videos) on a daily basis that builds meaningful stakeholder connections, increases brand awareness, and encourages community members to engage with UConn Global and respective units.
  • Produces content, including digital media, print media, and documentation for the area of assignment.
  • Creates and edits marketing materials and educational resources.
  • Serves as a consultant and resource to staff in areas of identity management and branding to assist with the development and implementation of a social media strategy, after conducting competitive research, platform determination, messaging and audience identification, including graphics and templates for Global Affairs units.
  • Collaborate with Global Affairs units to develop social media campaigns and provide support to other media staff to ensure the successful completion of assigned projects and to meet production schedules.
  • Oversees the scheduling, delivery, and operation of media equipment for use by the Office of Global Affairs.
  • Write, edit, and proofread copy, checking for facts, analysis, grammar and readability, and submits to supervisor for approval.
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies.
  • Set up and optimize UConn Global pages within each platform to increase the visibility of our social content
  • Monitor SEO and stakeholder engagement and suggest content optimization.
  • Moderate user-generated content in line with the moderation policy.
  • Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules.
  • Capture and analyze the appropriate social data/metrics, insights, and social media best practices to measure the success of every social media campaign, then use that information to refine future campaigns.
  • Participates in workshops and events across school and departments.
  • Performs related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Two years of related work experience managing social media accounts, producing website content, writing news articles, and creating visually appealing graphics.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently and exercise initiative.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Airtable, Canva, and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Comfortable forging relationships in person and electronically. The ability to consistently follow up with others and work with diverse professional groups is essential.
  • Experience working across cultures and within various levels of an organization.
  • Willingness to work some evening or weekend hours.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a university setting, working collaboratively with faculty, students, and staff.
APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time, annually renewable position for a maximum of 3 years, based in Storrs, CT. The schedule will be Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
