Job Description:

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at the University of La Verne invites applications for adjunct instructor positions. We seek faculty colleagues to join our NASPAA-accredited and nationally ranked program. We appreciate and encourage applicants with diverse backgrounds and professional experiences in culturally diverse urban/suburban settings to inquire and apply.

There are a limited number of adjunct teaching opportunities within the program. Courses are generally taught as 70% synchronous and 30% hybrid. The synchronous portion may be held in-person, remotely via video conferencing, or as a combination of modalities depending on program needs.

Engage in annual meetings and participate in other program-related training and activities throughout the academic year.

Required Qualifications:

1. Earned master’s degree in public administration or related field.
2. A minimum of five years of successful experience in government, nonprofit, or other public service settings.
3. A commitment to and experience working with diverse student populations and communities.
4. Working knowledge and expertise in graduate program competencies in public administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Substantial doctoral-level coursework or earned doctorate in public administration or related field.
2. Experience in a variety of public service settings or organizations.3. Previous teaching experience, professional-level presentation skills, and/or supervisory experience.
4. Familiarity with educational technology and learning management systems.
