Administrative Coordinator
Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the position of Administrative Coordinator for the new CMC College of Health and Human Performance.
Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services is required. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required work experience. Seven (7) years of advanced administrative support experience or equivalent education, training, and experience; a bachelor’s degree; prior supervisory experience; experience in an educational setting; and ROTC certification processing and Military Commissioning are all preferred.
Duties will include, but are not limited to: manage the administrative activities within the college and provide direct support to the Dean and the Dean’s Office; provide confidential administrative support to the Dean; manage calendar, coordinate faculty, department chairs, task force, committee and other meetings related to the college; coordinate meeting/event logistics, including receptions, awards, etc.; materials for distribution and the preparation/distribution of meeting minutes; prepare correspondence, letters of recommendation, memos, reports, course proposals, degree program changes or additions, honorariums, contracts and grant applications and other duties assigned by the Dean; also serve as the liaison for the Dean and the internal/external community; assess/monitor administrative workload; identify/deploy resources; develop/maintain administrative procedures/standards for the college; promote best office practices; plan/evaluate workload, identify process inefficiencies and integrates solutions; coordinate/lead administrative staff meetings on a regular basis; coordinate master calendar of administrative activities for the college; disseminate information to the department level; coordinate leave/scheduling and ensure office coverage in department; supervise all of the administrative support personnel within the college; identify/provide training and cross-training within the administrative support function; observe performance and prepare performance evaluations in consultation with the department chairs; prepare and assist with CCU and ROTC Military Certification process; assist with event logistics for multiple departments including Military Commissioning and scheduling events; serve on committees as needed to provide information, procedures, and availability for ROTC requests at university events; and perform additional duties as assigned.

Administrative Coordinator (AH10/61122767/FTE-S00619P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 05. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the University.

Required Qualifications:

A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or a bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Seven years of advanced administrative support experience or equivalent education, training, and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Experience in an educational setting. ROTC certification processing and Military Commissioning is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong organizational, communication (written and oral), interpersonal and computer skills required. Ability to professionally interact with external/internal constituents, exercise sound decision making, maintain confidentiality and prioritize administrative activities within the college. Must be proficient with spreadsheets, word processing, web support, and databases.

Additional comments regarding this position:

Must be able to multi-task and handle several tasks/projects simultaneously. Must be self-motivated and independent in fulfilling the requirements of the position.
