Job Details

Trinity Christian College seeks a full-time Assistant Director of Financial Aid.  The Assistant Director will administer federal, state and institutional financial aid to students, advise, counsel, and actively educate students, parents, and staff about the financial aid process,  develop and execute initiatives to promote financial literacy and financial skills development of Trinity students and employees, update and maintain financial aid software, and perform some set up in the student information system and assist the Director of Financial Aid in ensuring compliance with Title IV regulations.

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Determine eligibility for federal, state, and Trinity financial aid and award to students.
  • Provide customer service to students and parents about the financial aid process.
  • Originate, disburse, and reconcile federal grants, including Federal Pell and TEACH.
  • Establish and maintain consortium agreements with partner colleges
  • Determine financial aid probation and suspension for students not meeting SAP, and send required communication to affected students.
  • Update and maintain financial aid software.
  • Administer the college’s tuition waiver policy for dependents of employees
  • Complete all R2T4 calculations
  • Complete reports on federal aid as necessary.
  • Assist in training new staff
  • Review and approve graduate students financial aid cohort calendars
  • Assist in preparation for federal and state audits
  • Promote financial literacy and financial skills development with initiatives throughout the year

A Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3-5 years of financial aid experience is required.  Proficient in using Microsoft and Excel along with skill set and knowledge about enrollment management, customer service and financial service. Ability to organize and prioritize workflow to meet deadlines. Work independently and has strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to analyze and organize data into useful information.
  • Strong computer skills.
