Position Summary:

This position will support the J.M. Tull School of Accounting’s BBA program and external stakeholders as well as guiding undergraduate applicants through admission to the School’s Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program. In particular, the person who fills this role will assist the Director of Undergraduate Programs with administrative duties associated with the school’s BBA program and its Double Dawg (DD) pathways. The position performs an important support function for the school by coordinating all recruitment and other student engagement activities for undergraduate students who demonstrate interest in and/or apply to the Tull’s MAcc programs (Traditional MAcc, 5-year BBA/MAcc, dual degree programs, and DD programs). The role will also provide key management and support for both the BBA-ACCT and DD admissions processes for the Tull School.The position’s involvement with the undergraduate program lends itself to planning and executing Tull School undergraduate events and Terry College-level undergraduate events on behalf of the Tull School of Accounting. In addition, this position will provide key management and support for undergraduates applying to the School’s MAcc program, under the oversight of the MAcc program director, including, but not limited to, establishing and processing digital applicant files, notifying students of admissions decisions, and answering MAcc admissions inquiries via email/phone/in-person. The person in this role will be responsible for organizing and executing MAcc information sessions and MAcc recruiting efforts and will assist with MAcc student events as part of the School’s overall student engagement efforts. He or she will also lead the School’s DEI efforts, including, but not limited to, student recruitment and School-specific diversity programming as well as serve as the School’s liaison to the College and University’s diversity offices.Finally, to encourage and grow Tull student, alumni, and community engagement, the person in this position will post at least daily during the work week on the Tull School’s various social media platforms and work with the BBA and MAcc directors to make necessary updates to the School website. They will also plan and execute Tull Alumni events throughout the year and attend events offered by the Terry Alumni Relations office where Tull Alumni are present. The position will also assist the School with the development and execution of employer, alumni, and MAcc student surveys and assist the MAcc and BBA directors with data collection and analysis for School accreditation efforts. This job requires a high level of independent management of job responsibilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Supports the recruitment and enrollment of BBA Accounting and Double Dawg students and supports the BBA admissions operations processes. Collaborates with BBA Director to develop, launch and manage strategies to increase applications, enrollment, retention and completion.

  • Assist Tull BBA director with the development of marketing and communication materials used to increase undergraduate interest and enrollment in the Tull School’s BBA and DD programs
  • Coordinate all student engagement activities for undergraduate students who demonstrate interest in and/or apply to the Tull School’s undergraduate (BBA and DD) programs
  • Provide information to current Terry undergraduate students interested in ACCT and/or DD program pathway
  • Coordinate admissions operations for Tull’s BBA accounting program with BBA Director
  • Manage application process for ACCT and Non-ACCT BBA students who wish to enroll in the Tull School’s DD (BBA/MAcc) programs
  • Update and maintain DD application in Athena (UGA) and Qualtrics (departmental), submit summarized applicant information to BBA director and notify students of admissions decision via email and update Athena to reflect decision
  • Attend university-wide DD fair each semester
  • Maintain communications with other UGA DD coordinators for best practices/advise on new programs rolling out across campus
  • Develop and maintain program-specific knowledge of and significant experience with UGA rules, regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to DD programs
  • Manage issues or concerns related to the Tull School’s DD programs
  • Assist BBA director with compilation of BBA/DD data needed for accreditation, assessment, and other School reports

  • Coordinate all student engagement activities for undergraduate students who demonstrate interest in and/or apply to the Tull School’s MAcc programs, including dual degree programs (JD/MAcc, MAcc/MS Financial Planning, etc.)
  • Meet with potential MAcc applicants students, organize and attend MAcc recruiting events at UGA and on other campuses
  • Hold at least two (2) MAcc information sessions each semester during the academic year
  • Organize and schedule tours of BLC/campus for prospective MAcc students
  • Manage MAcc admissions operations through graduate school application platform (e.g., Slate)
  • Oversee the compilation of admissions data for Tull’s internal records for all applicants for MAcc admissions committee by the Administrative Associate
  • Review and manage internal admissions spreadsheet prepared by Administrative Associate to ensure proper data collection
  • Participate ex officio in admission committee meetings
  • Contact applicants with admission decisions
  • Supply MAcc coordinator with names and contact information for admitted students along with other student information as requested by the MAcc coordinator
  • Assist BBA and MAcc directors with collection and verification of CPA passage information for BBA and MAcc students and recent alumni to assist with program assessment

Management and execution of Tull School student engagement events and activities.

  • Plan and execute events targeting BBA and MAcc students, including Tull’s spring graduation celebration, the ACCT 2101/2102 “superstars” dinner each fall and spring, Accounting student recruitment efforts in local high schools and among freshmen and sophomores, and develop other, appropriate BBA and MAcc student-centered events
  • Assist BBA programs director at the Terry Majors Orientation and Terry Majors Fair each fall and spring to highlight student services available to BBA and DD students through the Tull School, Terry, and/or UGA
  • Attend MAcc orientation each semester to highlight student services available to MAcc students through the Tull School, Terry, and/or UGA
  • Assist with planning and execution of annual Tull Honors Banquet along with the MAcc Program Coordinator and Terry Special Events department
  • Plan and execute monthly coffee hour events for MAcc students and faculty and prepare and similar student events as staff advisor for MAcc Student Association
  • Assist faculty advisors with Beta Alpha Psi and National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) events upon request
  • Assist with the development, planning, and execution new departmental student engagement efforts and events, at the request of the Director of the Tull School and/or the MAcc Director

Management and execution of Tull School alumni events and activities.

  • Plan, organize, and execute alumni networking and social events in coordination with Terry special events, Terry development and alumni relations, and other related departments
    • Existing or planned alumni relations events to be administered by the person in this position include: a fall golf event for employers, alumni, faculty, and students; a spring alumni event in Athens; and a summer alumni gathering in Atlanta
  • Communicate regularly with Terry Development and Alumni Relations and record all Tull alumni outreach efforts in GAIL
  • Assist with the development and communication of the Tull Annual Report
  • In addition, this position will be tasked with attending Terry alumni events and development events with personnel from those departments on behalf of Tull.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Manage Tull School’s DEI recruitment and student programming effor

  • Develop new and maintain existing diversity recruiting pipelines for the School’s BBA and MAcc programs (e.g., attend recruitment fairs, visit other campuses to promote School DEI initiatives, host diverse applicants on UGA’s campus, etc.)
  • Oversee recruitment and application for the UGA graduate school’s diversity graduate assistantship program for qualified MAcc applicants
  • Develop programming related to DEI for Tull undergraduate and graduate students
  • Work with the College and University diversity office to expand Tull’s presence at diversity events on campus as well as to ensure Tull’s participation in larger DEI initatives on campus
  • Serve as a staff member of the Tull School DEI committee
  • Work with the College’s diversity office to help with the summer program for high school students who may be interested in pursuing an accounting or business degree

Manage Tull School’s social media presence and other related activities

  • Manage Tull’s social media platforms, including daily posts and updates to new platforms, as appropriate
  • Collect information from faculty, staff, and alumni appropriate for Tull social media and follow up with posts
  • Work with Terry OMC to manage and improve Tull social media content
  • Work with the professor for the Professionalism I & II courses (ACCT 5710 and 5720) to help students create Linkedin accounts and join the Tull School network
  • Assist Tull director, BBA director, and MAcc director with engagement of outside speakers, Tull advisory board meetings, and similar outreach to Tull alumni, friends, and supporters
