Assist senior course coordinator and preclinical medical education deans with other courses or preclinical issues Interprofessional Education (IPE):Coordinate the IPE events that occur at various times throughout the year.
- Coordinate five semester-based School of Medicine courses: Human Structure Function I-IV, Clinical Correlations, Human Biochemistry, Medical Microbiology, and the Neurosciences course
- Including developing and maintaining faculty communications, lecture, and small group schedules;
- Arranging for space for the course;
- Contacting other units and departments involved with the course;
- Maintaining the course website using Blackboard;
- Sending updates and reminders to students in the course;
- Tracking student assignments;
- Monitoring student participation in small group sessions;
- Scheduling student appointments;
- Resolving complex clerical problems related to the course;
- Compiling course-related reports based on databases that the assistant maintains;
- Working with the instructors to continuously improve the course.
Assist with data entry and database management of the curriculum management software; communicate with course directors and coordinators on obtaining data and assistance with the spreadsheet. Execute special projects assigned by the Associate Dean of Preclinical Medical Education and Senior Associate Dean of Medical Education: assist with scheduling of courses in Year 2 and 3 of the medical school curriculum: this includes knowing the schedules for courses that occur in the School of Medicine building and assisting course directors when changes are suggested.Provide administrative duties for proctoring examinations of the above courses and additional examinations as needed by the Office of Medical Education.Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
