Position Summary
Dallas College is seeking a motivated, highly collaborative contributor who will create and foster community relationships. The Outreach Specialist reports to Project Lead of Student Experience and:
• Ability to empathize with people of greatly varied experiences, and an appreciation for community-centered solutions
• Recognize emerging issues and create frameworks for community collaboration
• Supports educational programs designed to improve experiential learning initiatives
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Identify and foster relationships with existing community leaders and organizers
• Support ongoing community programs with logistical and material coordination
• Supports educational programs designed to improve experiential learning initiatives
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills
• Experience facilitating large groups and seminars
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Networking aptitude
• Great attention to detail
Physical Requirements

Minimum Knowledge and Experience
• Two years college (preferred) or High School Diploma with two (2) years’ experience in workforce development and/or apprenticeship projects (required)
• Two (2) years’ collecting and managing large amounts data
• Two (2) years’ of providing mentoring and guidance
• Two (2) years’ experience organizing and coordinating groups for various activities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for maintaining a pipeline of candidates to fill the work-based learning initiatives program
• Communities point of contact for potential program candidates
• Well-versed in speaking about the work-based learning program’s benefits.
• Onboarding these new students, assisting with paperwork, as introducing them to the other professionals involved with the program
• Research community partners, identify key players and generate interest
• Collaborate with management and other marketing teammates to align our internal goals with new and existing partner relationships
• Forecast, measure, and report the results of various projects with community partners
• Keep a great ongoing relationship with current community and offer new ways to grow the collaboration
• Responsible for maintaining a log of all the people they contact
