The Department of Clinical Studies-New Bolton Center, University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, is pleased to offer a full-time faculty position specializing in large animal diagnostic imaging, focusing on use of ultrasonographic imaging in equine sports medicine and rehabilitation, and providing diagnostic support for other hospital services. This position is available immediately at the Associate Professor level, in the Academic Clinician (AC) Track. Individuals applying for this position must have a VMD/DVM or equivalent degree and be ACVR/ECVDI or ACVSMR board-eligible or board-certified.
This unique position encompasses teaching, clinical service, and the ability to pursue collaborative scholarly activity in a clinical setting. New Bolton Center has a diverse and challenging caseload and the successful candidate will join an enthusiastic team of clinicians dedicated to excellence in large animal diagnostics and treatment. Experienced technical staff and a faculty mentorship program should assist the candidate toward a rewarding career.
New Bolton Center offers a comprehensive selection of imaging modalities. The successful applicant will provide clinical service to patients at the Hospital and may participate in Field Service as appropriate. A focus on rehabilitation of sports-related and orthopedic injuries is desirable, and the opportunity exists to collaborate with other ACVSMR diplomates at New Bolton Center to work toward establishment of a rehabilitation center associated with the campus. Teaching of veterinary students in both a didactic and a clinical setting is an important aspect of the position, as is clinical training of equine interns and residents. Faculty members in the Academic Clinician track are expected to demonstrate excellence in clinical practice and innovation in delivery of care. While there is no requirement for research productivity, the successful applicant is encouraged to collaborate with and strengthen research programs of faculty in the Section of Imaging and other sections within the Department of Clinical Studies-New Bolton Center.
New Bolton Center Hospital for Large Animals is located in picturesque Chester County in the heart of Pennsylvania's horse country, approximately 45 minutes from Philadelphia and 35 minutes from Wilmington, Delaware.
