The College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS), a unit of the Division of Health Sciences (DHS) is comprised of nine departments: Addictions & Rehabilitation Studies (DARS), Biostatistics (BIOS), Clinical Laboratory Science (CLSC), Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSDI), Health Services and Information Management (HSIM), Occupational Therapy (OCCT), Physical Therapy (PTHE), Physician Assistant Studies (PADP) and Nutrition Science (NUTR). The CAHS offers six 6) undergraduate (BS) degrees, seven (7) Masters (MS) degrees, and four (4) doctoral degrees (DPT, AuD, and two (2) PhD’s). In addition to offering these degree programs with various tracks, the BIOS Department provides statistical support for the CAHS faculty, Brody School of Medicine faculty, and faculty in other Colleges, schools and units. The HSIM Department administers the Health Care Management certificate program for the College of Business MBA and MPA degrees and administers a certificate in Health Informatics. The CSDI Department operates the Speech and Hearing Clinic for patients; provides hearing screening tests for all prospective Education majors; and evaluates and provides therapy for students with hearing or speech difficulties in conjunction with Disability Support Services in the Division of Student Life. The Nutrition Science offers dietetic programs. Enrollment exceeds 1050 students. More than 1,000 ECU undergraduate students are declared Pre-Allied Health students and are advised by the Pre-Allied Health Advisors at the Advising Center. Faculty members prepare students for allied health careers in undergraduate and graduate degree programs through classroom, distance education, laboratory instruction and off-site clinical rotations. Two additional fee-for-service clinics are offered: physical therapy; substance abuse and employment readiness counseling.
The College of Allied Health Sciences is currently recruiting part-time, fixed-term teaching faculty at the title(s) of Teaching Instructor, Clinical Instructor, Teaching Assistant Professor, Teaching Associate Professor, Teaching Professor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, and Research Assistant Professor for the following specialties for current and upcoming academic year: Physical Therapy; Addictions and Rehabilitation Studies; Communication Sciences and Disorders; Health Services and Information Management; Physician Assistant Studies; Clinical Laboratory Science; Biostatistics; Nutrition Science and Occupational Therapy.

Job Duties :

The College of Allied Health Sciences is currently recruiting part-time, fixed-term research faculty to teach and/or conduct and manage research activities within the Allied Health disciplines.

Ad will remain open until 1/15/2022.

Minimum Education/Experience :

To teach undergraduate courses or work with research for an undergraduate program, faculty are required to hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in the teaching field or a related field.

To teach graduate courses or work with research for a graduate program, faculty are required to hold a terminal degree in the teaching field or a related field.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :

License and certification for specialty required
