Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm, limited evenings and weekends

Job Summary: The IT Technical Specialist III performs advanced professional IT activities for a specialized, complex assignment or functional area requiring application of an advanced professional knowledge of IT principles, practices, and procedures. Requires evaluation, originality or ingenuity. May supervise and/or direct the work of project teams or other lower level staff.

Additional Department Summary: The Clinical Applications Analyst works under general supervision of the Director of Health Informatics and the Assistant Director of Clinical Applications to perform professional level responsibilities in the analysis, evaluation, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation and maintenance of CCHS clinical applications across multiple platforms and technologies; to perform a variety of duties relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree ; OR Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of IT experience; OR Associate’s degree and four (4) years of IT experience; OR High School Diploma or GED and six (6) years of IT experience. Knowledge of electronic health records, advanced programming, networking systems, system, multimedia, instructional or security technology skills or knowledge of project management methods and applications. May require advanced level training or certification.

Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely, in both written and oral communications. Professionalism and the ability to work with a diverse population is important. Strong customer services skills. Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to work on multiple, ongoing projects and tasks and meet stated deadlines. Ability to work cooperatively in a team setting, as well as independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of application management principles, practices and procedures, including hardware, software and networks. Ability to troubleshoot both standard and nonstandard issues. Some evaluation, originality or ingenuity is required.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a healthcare and or higher education setting. NextGen EMR or EPM experience preferred.
