Job Summary: The Administrative Assistant provides high-level, confidential administrative support to a member of the executive level management of the University of Alabama to ensure that the activities and missions of the division support the overall mission of the University. Manages the office of the executive to include supervision of office staff; oversees maintenance of all files, records, and reports. May develop/oversee special projects. Oversees/works on special projects. Serves as the liaison for the executive to a diverse group including the administration, faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni, and/or donors.
Additional Department Summary: To provide high-level, confidential administrative support to the Head Men's Basketball Coach. Serve as the face and initial point-of-contact for the men's basketball office. Routing calls and visitors as appropriate. Providing administrative support to assistant men's basketball coaches.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and five (5) years of experience; OR Associate’s degree and three (3) years of experience; OR Bachelor’s degree or higher and one (1) year of experience.
Skills and Knowledge: Good organizational, communication and public relation skills. Ability to maintain strict standards of confidentiality. Ability to operate multiple telephone lines and multitask. Strong human relation skills and ability to work well with a diverse population which includes students, prospective students, parents, alumni and donors, guests, fans, coaches, staff and general public.
Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook. Ability to multi-task. Strong written communication skills. Prefer knowledge of NCAA rules and guidelines; and SEC rules and regulations as they pertain to men's basketball. Significant experience in university administrative and budgetary processes strongly preferred.
