Position Summary

The Specialist for Partnerships and Programs reports to the Director of Partnerships and Programs and provides support to departmental Project Managers and team members in the development and execution of Columbus State experiential learning earn-and-learn programs and events. The Specialist for Partnerships and Programs contributes to a culture at Columbus State that prioritizes student success through engagement, recruitment, retention, and completion initiatives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Program Support

The Specialist for Partnerships and Programs executes upon a wide variety of administrative tasks to support and advance the success of experiential learning programs, students, partners, and employer relations. Assists in the management of the Partnerships & Programs calendar and scheduling. Provides support for departmental data collection, events, recruitment activities, programming, tracking, etc. Examples of this work include:

Assist with the migration, tracking, and reporting of data from various CRM’sAssist with managing the Handshake database and fielding inquiries and troubleshooting needs from students and employers related to the systemAssist with the new student onboarding process and program orientationsAssist with updating and maintaining Experiential Learning webpagesAssist with disseminating outreach to students, campus organizations, and partners on college experiential learning opportunities and programsAssist with the execution of training workshops and student/employer engagement, events, and trainingsAssist with dissemination of experiential learning marketing and recruitment materials via social media accountsCustomer Service

The Specialist for Partnerships and Programs provides comprehensive customer service in a high volume, challenging, fast-paced environment. Has autonomy to resolve issues in real-time and referring students to appropriate departments and partners for further assistance as necessary. Interprets and responds to student inquiries via in-person and/or electronically via email, telephone, virtual meeting software, CRM’s, etc. Assists students with the completion of steps required to participate in experiential learning earn-and-learn programs – these needs can range from college admission, financial aid, registration, program requirements, and general college policies and procedures. Provides explanation and guidance for inquiries related to State, College, and departmental requirements and processes.

Office Support

The Specialist for Partnerships and Programs serves as a collaborative and supportive team member by supporting all experiential learning program operations and events as needed. This may include, but is not limited to, serving on planning teams, attending staff meetings, working events, documenting challenges and successes, and providing feedback with the Partnerships and Programs team. Other duties as required.

Maintains confidentiality of student records in accordance with FERPA guidelines as well as internal regulations and procedures, with the ability to adapt to changing needs of the College and business partnersPhysical RequirementsWhile performing duties of this job, the employee frequently sits at a desk, and regularly stands and walks. Frequently talks and hears on the telephone and in person with office visitors. Frequently exhibits close vision requirements when working on the computer equipment. Frequently uses hands to handle and feel, exhibit digital dexterity when performing production typing, word processing and other computer applications. Employee occasionally lifts up to 10 pounds.Working ConditionsTypical Office environment. Regular exposure to moderate noise typical to business offices. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

Knowledge of: Standard office procedures and practices;customer service delivery skills, computer software programs and databaseapplications for office administration, including Microsoft Office and Access;business English word usage, spelling, sentence structure, and punctuation;business letter formats; project management.

High School Diploma or GED withat least three (3) years’ progressively responsible clerical experience inthe area of the assigned specialized function; or an Associate Degree withat least one (1) year progressively responsible experience. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrableability to gain access to work site(s). An appropriate combination ofeducation, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate.
