Deadline:

The Department of Clinical Studies-New Bolton Center at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a faculty position in Large Animal Emergency and Critical Care. The successful candidate will be a DVM/VMD or equivalent and will be Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in the American or European Colleges of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, and/or Board-Certified in the American or European Colleges of Veterinary Surgery with demonstrated experience and expertise in colic surgery and critical care medicine.

You would join a team of boarded criticalists in managing this intellectually stimulating case load in a state-of-the-art critical care facility. The faculty member will have primary responsibility for providing senior coverage in the emergency service, including both daytime and after-hours clinical duty receiving equine and farm animal emergency cases. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in the medical and surgical management of large animal emergencies, with proficiency in equine abdominal surgery (colic). The ideal candidate will advance the academic missions of the School through their contributions to clinical service, research, and didactic, laboratory and clinical teaching of veterinary students, interns, residents and ECC fellow.

The position will be in the Standing Faculty in the Clinician Educator track, which supports faculty members whose responsibilities include the traditional triad of research, clinical service, and teaching. The successful candidate will be appropriately apportioned to these academic areas depending upon their strengths. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
