Job Description

*This position will be open until filled. For full consideration, all application related materials should be submitted by 06/29/2022. Application review will begin 06/30/2022.

Reporting to the Director of Early College Programming (CTE), this grant funded position is responsible for managing the CTE College Credit Program and providing CTE students the opportunity to earn CSN college credit towards credentials of value. This position will directly supervise an administrative assistant, a specialist, and dependent upon funding, part-time wage staff.

Typical duties and responsibilities:
  • Lead and direct the day-to-day activities of the program including student outreach; recruiting and guiding of students through the program application cycle; verification of application and eligibility; and awarding of articulated college credit.
  • Maintain external collaborative relationships with local service area high school administrators and teachers, counterparts from school district CTE department and Nevada Department of Education.
  • Conduct regular program assessments, making changes and decisions based on the program outcomes and assessments towards a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate the development of new, and maintenance of existing, statewide articulation agreements in collaboration with CSN faculty and external partners such as the school district and Nevada Department of Education.
  • Work with the Office of Sponsored Projects, Financial Services, and Institutional Research to develop the annual grant application, budget, and outcomes reports.
  • Work independently and cooperatively with Marketing and Director of Early College Programming to develop and implement effective recruitment and marketing strategies related to the program, including assistance with web content, preparation of publications, distribution of brochures and posters, and in-person promotion at off-site events.


The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Knowledge of secondary and postsecondary CTE systems, policies, and programs (ex. Perkins V, NV Perkins V State Plan, BOR policies related to articulated credit, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Knowledge of grant and project management.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with others.
  • Ability to supervise multiple projects.
  • Ability to supervise staff.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, conduct trainings, and improve program effectiveness.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4-5 years of experience working in a K-12 school or district and/or post-secondary setting.
  • 1-2 years of lead or supervisory experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited university in Career and Technical Education, Education, Higher Education, Communications, or related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of grant and project management.
  • Experience managing budgets.
  • Experience working in a college and/or university setting.
  • Experience working with academic faculty in developing articulation agreements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of career and technical education at secondary and postsecondary institutions and articulated college credit.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Perkins V.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to engage in strategic planning, goal setting, and establishing priorities to conduct work, achieve goals, assess outcomes, and make improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others, serving either as a lead or team member as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collegial working relationships with both internal and external partners.
  • Excellent communication, thorough and effective, both orally and written.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout performance of job duties.



    Starting Salary Range
    Administrative Faculty D
    $72,864 - $77,964

    This position is funded by grant dollars and is contingent upon ongoing and available funding.
