Job Summary
Columbus State University has an opening for an Associate Director of Financial Aid. This position will report to the Director of Financial Aid under the Division of Enrollment Services. The Associate Director is responsible for monitoring all regulatory and administrative requirements for federal and state aid programs to ensure compliance; training staff to include the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures manual; overseeing federal and state audits; developing and implementing outreach programs and materials; overseeing scholarship program centralization; and serving as a member of the leadership team.

Responsibilities
Significant responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Monitor all regulatory and administrative requirements for federal and state aid programs and identify regulatory changes and potential issues
  • Train Financial Aid and Enrollment Services Center staff on all aspects of financial aid
  • Complete weekly reports to ensure proper compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Assist with all aspects of awarding process
  • Develop and implement outreach programs and materials
  • Make presentations on and off campus related to all aspects of financial aid
  • Perform random quality assurance testing
  • Oversee federal and state audits (when audits occur)
  • Ensure Banner operations are compliant with federal, state, and institutional regulations
  • Ensure website is compliant with federal, state, and institutional regulations
  • Create, update, and share internal policies and procedures manual
  • Oversee scholarship program centralization
  • Serve on university-wide committees as appropriate
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible financial aid experience; and/or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. The successful candidate must possess extensive knowledge of information, practices, and procedures in financial aid to include federal and state regulations; experience in Title IV and State awarding procedures; knowledge and experience in the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), the Common Origination and Disbursement Database (COD), and FAA Access; experience with Campus Logic; experience and knowledge of Ellucian Banner 9 financial aid functions; strong public speaking skills for financial aid presentations to faculty, staff, students, and parents; and experience with state databases such as surfer.

Preferred Qualifications
A Master's Degree is preferred.

Proposed Salary
The annualized salary range for this position is $54,814 - $60,904 and includes full benefits.
