Office of Career Services

Associate Director of Career Development and Education

Reporting to the Director of Career Services, the Associate Director of Career Development and Education assists with overall department management and the development of policies, assessment and quality assurance. The Associate Director directly oversees events, the department’s webpage, branding, communications and educational initiatives and is responsible for assessing efficiency and impact of department initiatives. The Associate Director develops and increases student internship enrollment and post­graduation hiring outcomes for Kean University students; works with academic units to embed career and internship opportunities into courses and academic programs that lead to post­graduation employment outcomes; acts on behalf of the director in their absence; and does related work as required. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and two years of relevant professional experience is required. A Master's degree and supervisory experience is preferred. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to speak in public; and a commitment to advancing students' holistic development, particularly as it relates to career issues and experiences.
