Job Details
This position will serve as a Student Account Coordinator/Cashier with primary responsibilities in the Bursar area. The Coordinator/Cashier will accept and process payments, make monthly payment plan collection calls, answer billing and payment related questions and serve as a customer service position in Bursar’s Office. This position will work in collaboration with other Bursar/Financial Aid staff to ensure timely posting of payments and refunds.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive and post cash, check, and monitor credit card transactions
- Daily balancing of cashiering sessions and preparing bank Deposits
- Grant exceptions on registration holds to students on behalf of the University
- Post all enrollment deposits received from Admissions
- Post all study abroad and trip deposits
- Verify and process Student refunds
- Verify and process Monthly Payment Plans (MPP) Applications
- Answer Main phone line for the Student Account Office
- Responsible for Student Accounts email account
- Open office mail and distribute
- Provide excellent customer service to prospective, current, and former students
- Answer basic questions and provide direction to students with questions in the areas of Financial Aid and Registrar
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education: HS Diploma/GED
Required Skills- Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Outlook and Excel
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively via phone and email
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Knowledge of basic accounting practices
- Experience handling money
- Experience with Banner preferred
Salary Grade: 4
