THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN.

 

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, the Medical Administrative Assistant is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day front office operations duties of this position include but are not limited to; patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, collecting patient payments, telephone triage, and general office duties.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

    Act as liaison between front office and other areas of operation.Opens/blocks physician schedules, coordinate appointments.Answers phone calls and routes calls and messages through EMR.Performs patient registration/check-ins, patient collections, insurance and demographic verificationsMonitors and update patient appointment queue.Reviews and routes patient complaints to the appropriate responder.Provides work direction to office administrative staff.Communicates with patients regarding their appointments and wait times.Schedules patient appointments and ensures necessary paperwork is completed.Answer appointment line and assist patients with scheduling appointments.Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

 

EDUCATION: High School diploma. (Vocational or Technical Training preferred). (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

 

EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of experience in an administrative role in an office-based setting. (Knowledge of Centricity Practice Solutions preferred; one (1) year of experience in a medical office setting preferred; and familiarity with medical terminology preferred).

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to multi-task in a busy work environment.Good computer skills.Knowledge and ability to work in Microsoft Office.  
WORK SCHEDULEThis position may be occasionally required to work evenings.
