The Department of Comparative Literature at the University of California, Berkeley, seeks applications for a non-tenure-track lecturer.

Teaching Responsibilities:
We are seeking outstanding lecturers who can teach/co-teach small or medium sized courses in the following areas:

1) Modern Greek Language

2) Modern Greek Composition

3) Topics in Modern Greek Literature

General Duties:
In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and maintaining a course website.

For those who are not US citizens or permanent residents, a legal permit that allows work in the United States (such as a US visa that allows employment) is required by the position's start date. The Department is unable to provide a visa/work permit.

PhD (or international equivalent degree) by time of application.
Preferred qualifications
Evidence of effective teaching in the area of Modern Greek Language by the start date. Experience with teaching in a university setting.
